The desire for many people to be on a reality show is never realized because they do not know where to start. Each production has a unique theme and this must resonate with the ability of the participants. It means that you are talented in what is demanded and are comfortable doing it under the glare of cameras. Those without genuine ability or talent are usually the first to be evicted. It is humiliating because they cannot win by faking their ability.

The considerations to make before leaping into auditions include the amount of exposure generated by the shows. Participants are under spotlight the entire day and night. This means that parent, neighbors, friends, bosses, pastors, school mates and everyone around you will be watching the details of your life. This calls for engagement in only what you are willing and ready to handle now and in future.

What lures most of the participants is the promise of being stars. The other side of these productions is the loss of reputation depending on the activities and forgoing personal life. Each season has unique activities that should be borne in mind. The challenges in most of the shows are coping with strangers and the pressure of confinement. The activities require a strong personality since they are punishing at times. They take a heavy toll on your emotional and physical well being.

All terms and conditions for participation should be clear before filling the application form. This means that you are aware of the theme, timing, target audience and the content. This can be gotten from previous episodes. Watch out for new additions and modifications because they distinguish seasons.

Before applying for audition or casting, consider the character and behavior of judges in previous seasons. Learn from winners and losers of previous episodes to avoid similar pitfalls and improve on your chances. Different skills are needed each season and you must possess them. Some shows capitalize on nudity, physical ability and social skills. Ensure that your mental condition can handle the challenges of participation.

All details required during the application process should be provided in the format and manner demanded. Some productions want photos while others will take audios and videos clips. Live auditions are also common. Presentation is paramount in all the shows. You must be an interesting addition to the season.

Success in live production depends on how genuine you are when assessing your ability. It calls for honest criticism considering that you will be a star or a humiliation on camera. By identifying required talent like cooking, physical resilience, dancing, singing, etc, you will know whether a production fits your character or not.

You must want to be on a reality show by having something unique to contribute. This means the passion required in the field that the production is targeting. It does not make you stand out when you say that your interest is fame. The production must capture your true self. You must prepare to both win and lose since these are the realities of such shows.
