Some Business Start Up Ideas To Get You Thinking

By Paulette Short

In this economy, there is a lot to be said about starting your own business. More people are being laid off, fired or downsized to less than a full 40 hour week then ever before. Making a list of business start up ideas is the first good idea. Just one or two of these will help you with the monthly bills that still come in.

Internet riches are something that many people have accessed. There is a lot of money to be made through the use of a lot of programs such as affiliate marketing. This is something that can be done from home with little more than an Internet connection and some time. The free or low cost advertising is also made for this type of work and there are people everywhere who can be customers.

Something else that can be offered on and off line are consulting services. The things you were employed to do must have value and it can be offered to other people on a piece by piece basis. This shows that the things you have been doing can and does still have a place in the marketplace.

In the off line world, there are still many things that can generate a couple of dollars. House painting and garage cleaning is still something that people do not really like to do themselves. Gardening are tasks that many people need help with and the roof can use a little cleaning as well. There are many things that can be offered and the assistance these chores provide to others will be well paid for.

If you have a decent tool box and some skills in repair work, handymen are a reputable way of making a few dollars. Patching roofs, repairing gutters and helping people build a storage shed can be the way to more work. If you have either an electrical or plumbing license, you can also do service work, make money and still not charge the same amount the large firms charge.

Most of the real good business ideas you have will be the ones you and a few of your friends will come up with during a brain storming session. Set down and create a list of those skills you have. Identify what it is you need to be able to offer each service and whittle the list down to a few basics. Secure the sources of those resources you will need and do a little research into how to go about doing it or them.

That list of ideas will look like a list of things you may need done around your house. When it does, you know you have a list of things that will work in the larger community. Advertising can be done through a newspaper or even in the local Internet review websites. Word of mouth will take up where the electronic media leaves off and, if pursued aggressively, a good income can be generated.

Many of the many business start up ideas you come up with will be the way out of some of the problems you might have because of no job. You can create that job for yourself and it will look and feel better, after a hard days work, to have accomplished something on your own. You are now doing for yourself what others have done for themselves and might be in the position to hire others along the way.
